Whispers of My Way

By Dhrithi Bhargava | Dec 23, 2025

My Story

My name is Dhrithi B M, and I am based in Bangalore.

I was born prematurely at 32 weeks and experienced hearing challenges as an infant.

I am deeply grateful to my parents - Chitra Dayanidhi(Mother), and Mohan B R V (Father) and my elder brother - Dwarakanandan B M , who have supported me wholeheartedly since my childhood and played a vital role in my journey.

With the unwavering support of my mother, who has been my greatest inspiration, I was able to overcome these early difficulties and grow into the person I am today.

From 2000 to 2003, I underwent speech and hearing training 24*7 hours at the Rotary School for Mothers in Mysore.

The early years were deeply challenging for my mother. Many nights, after the household had gone to sleep, she would sit in tears, questioning when I might be able to speak, when I might hear, and when I might reach the developmental milestones of children of my age. The journey has been long, but through unwavering dedication and consistent effort from both my mother and me, we have been able to overcome those obstacles and make meaningful progress.

In 2004, I  underwent a cochlear implantation from Dr. Shankar Medikeri who is an efficient doctor based in Bangalore.

Following the implant, I continued my therapy in speech and hearing (which is absolutely necessary) under the guidance of Dr. Madhuri Gore at Dr. S. R. Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing, Lingarajpuram.

With dedicated effort and my mother’s constant encouragement, I learned to speak clearly and fluently.

I would like to share that during my childhood holidays, I learned to cycle and often rode independently. Later, I taught myself to ride a scooter and successfully obtained a driving licence from the RTO. This achievement has significantly enhanced my mobility, enabling me to travel across the city on my own, without relying on public transport or accompaniment.

School admission was not very easy it was subject to conditions that in case other parents object or in case other children started using sign language, I would be removed from school. My mother took it in her stride and accepted the challenge. Also she made me participate in all school activities like fancy dress, flower decoration, sports  and  debate which instilled confidence in me.

I hold a Bachelor of Vocational degree in Hospitality and Tourism (B.Voc - H&T).

At the age of 23, I married a wonderful and supportive caring husband - Bhargava R who continues to encourage me in all aspects of life.

I was working at Aster CMI hospital as an Associate in Outpatient Services which involved direct face to face interaction with patients. My role involved in assisting the patients through calls and dispatching the reports to the patients.

Currently, I am employed at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), where I work in the Engagement Centre. My role involves  assisting the passengers by addressing their queries through calls, emails, and social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp.

Beyond my professional career, I am also a passionate classical dancer and certified artist.

I have completed my Junior Grade in Bharatanatyam with a distinction of 88.5% under the guidance of my guru - Smt. Veena Shreedhar Morab.

During childhood, my mother would be present in my dance class too, to translate what my dance teacher would like to communicate to me.She would write down the dance steps as stick figures and make me practice it.

In addition, I have also used my time fruitfully by persuing my other hobbies of making attractive  neck chains, earrings, jhumkas  etc. using quilling.

It is fair to say that, in recognition of my progress, Cochlear invited me to serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the launch of Nucleus 6 in Bangalore.

Currently, I am pursuing my entrepreneurial journey through my macramé brand, Nool & Soul, which reflects my artistic vision and creativity.
